{Things Owl Always Love}

All forest creatures, including owls, have been very popular over the last few years.  I have a special place in my heart {ok, a full on obsession} with owls and squirrels.  Please don't remind me how they carry diseases: I don't want to hear it and I will always love how some come right up to your cart at the golf course. But on to owls.  They are everywhere and I'm a little partial- some are cuter than others.  I'm picky about my owl souveniers so here are my top picks that I have found so far.  Some are mainstream stores and some are handmade/vintage picks from etsy. Enjoy and I hope you owl agree! hehe

all the pretty boxes

I love wrapping stuff {don't get me wrong, I LOVE unwrapping as well} but I'm a paper lover.  And only other paper lovers can truly understand and appreciate all the gorgeous wrapping paper, ideas, ribbons washi tapes, cards, envelops and bows out there.  With my company, I wrap my wholesale orders in a way that brings a smile to the store owner when they receive it.  It's nothing over the top {remember as  a business owner, we eat those costs} but you want everything to look pretty and fun for those on the receiving end.  I love kraft paper, so I simply wrap the orders in the the brown kraft then use my signature colors {hot pink and neon orange} and wrap coordinating yarns {of different textures and widths} around the kraft.  It's simple and bright and cute.  And it's called branding.

But even if you don't own your own company where you are selling items, you can still make something you are giving to someone simple, special and unique.  Here are my favorite {homemade and all} wrapping ideas to make make sure your presentation is unforgettable:

to ombre or not to ombre

So we all know that ombre hair (or balayage) is all the rage right now- from the extreme to the more natural gradient of ombre.  For months, I have been going back and forth trying to decide if I should take the plunge.  If you're reading this, you may think it's ridiculous to be nervous about getting subtle ombre to one''s hair, however, you're talking to a virgin in this arena- never having dyed, highlighted or done any treatment to my hair (well, since the bad 80s perms in grade school).
So, with me, transitioning from au naturale to something that's not is a bit scary.  However, in my humble opinion, I would think {and hope} that a natural, honey ombre would be the smoothest transition into this new world.  All you veterans: feel free to chime in!

So, here we go:
Here I am at a recent wedding (I now sadly have bangs)

And these are a few of the ombre looks that I have found that I am considering:

I really love (love, love, love) the styling and color on the first one of Ashley Simpson Wentz and since I'm currently growing my bangs out, that is totally the ombre I believe I would start out with...maybe. So, in conclusion, maybe not today, probably not tomorrow, but one day soon, I think I will be rockin' the ombre style and stepping out of the virgin territory and into fabulous hair!
